At the turn of the year, 48,000 limited companies had chosen not to carry out an external audit of their annual accounts for 2011. The Brønnøysund Register Centre processed more than 30,000 such cases during the last two months of 2011.

The Brønnøysund Register Centre is offering more and more electronic services that make life easier for its users. You can now make even more changes for limited liability companies and public limited liability companies via Altinn.

The Register of Company Accounts stopped sending decisions concerning approved annual accounts by post to entities that submitted their annual accounts via Altinn. From now on, letters are sent to their message box in Altinn.

The public phone service 'the Narvik Business Hotline' changed its name to Business Advisory Services. The phone number is the same: 800 33 840. The service supplements the online service Altinn/ Start and Run a Business. The goal of the service is to make it easer to start and run a business in Norway.

You can now order a list of people's previous positions in business and industry from the Brønnøysund Register Centre. Among other things, this means greater transparency about executive positions and directorships in the private sector.

User involvement was the key topic at the Brønnøysund Register Centre's user forum on 19 and 20 June. On the basis of the problems with Altinn in the spring, it was natural that several representatives of users had questions about user involvement in Altinn. Most of the biggest user groups were represented, and they had clear feedback from their memb
