The Brønnøysund Register Centre – laying the foundation for increased value creation

Published 02.04.2013

altActivity has been high at the Brønnøysund Register Centre in 2012 as well. The increase in electronic submissions is a positive trend The Brønnøysund Register Centre shall be a high profile service that is accessible to business and industry. It is therefore important that the agency continues its efforts to facilitate digital dialogue with its users. That will make the Brønnøysund Register Centre more open and accessible for both businesses and the general public.

The government's far-reaching simplification initiative will benefit Norwegian business and industry. The Brønnøysund Register Centre wishes to be the leading agency as regards simplification in the public administration. The Brønnøysund Register Centre shall actively initiate, coordinate and follow up simplification measures throughout Norway's public administration that actively support the government's simplification efforts.

For many years, staff at the Brønnøysund Register Centre have had too little space and premises that do not meet the requirements of a modern workplace. I saw this myself when I visited the Brønnøysund Register Centre this autumn. The government's decision to build a new building to house the Brønnøysund Register Centre, in or outside Brønnøysund town centre, is a big and important step. The Brønnøysund Register Centre's new building will be functional and of high technical quality. The whole agency will be housed in the new building, which will promote cooperation, creativity and an attractive working environment.

Altinn received a lot of attention in the past year. The fact that more and more new services are being developed and linked to the new platform has received a lot of positive attention. Each new service that is launched saves resources that can be spent on other value-creating activities. Unfortunately, Altinn again attracted unwanted attention when the tax returns were made available in 2012. Nevertheless, I would like to take this opportunity to praise the efforts that were made in the wake of the incident to establish the reason for what happened.

The Brønnøysund Register Centre will face many important challenges also in the coming year, but, in my experience, it is a highly competent organisation with a an excellent ability to adapt. That makes it well equipped to do its job.
